*This is how the book I read looks like. This novel comes with two covers. This one, and another in yellow.
It’s about a fifteen year old boy named Charlie. Who writes to this anonymous person about his life and all the things that is happening to him. He was new to high-school and just lost his best friend, Michael. He also has this problem getting over her Aunt Helen’s death. He reads books a lot, well also because his English teacher Bill asks him to read them. In High School he meets Patrick and Sam who will be his most favorite people ever. I leave the proper introduction to the back of the cover. Now here’s what I think about it.
It only took me two days to finish the book. If I was not too exhausted last night, I could’ve finished it in one day. It is not one of those books that will start to bore you even though Charlie was just talking about his life. He is smart and is afraid to do things. In the story he is a “Wallflower”. Bob and the others realized this at his first party with them. Because he’ll know things and wouldn’t do anything about it. He would simply shut up and go with the flow. Throughout the story he learns new stuff like smoking cigarettes, smoking pot, drugs, sex and the realities of the world. One of his prominent characteristics was he is very emotional.
I think the very lesson of this book was to “participate” like what Bill always tells Charlie to do. Because he was observing too much that he forgets to get involved. Like how Sam reminded him to do what he wants and not just put everybody else in front of him. I like how this novel proved the value of family and friends and how we can’t live without them. The idea of feeling infinite while driving fast through a tunnel with the best fitting song for the moment playing on the radio. It also showed how people and things change, how everything can get better so fast after you thought your whole life turned into a mess. This book tells what teenagers really go through nowadays. The story was well told and I would definitely recommend this to everybody. I’m certain that they would like it too.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
